The rain forest is geographically important because it is a home to 50% of Biodiversity ( the existence of a wide variety plant and animal species in their natural environment ). Another reason why the rain forest is geographically significant is because many medicines have been created from the rain forest "Over a quarter of medicines we use today have their origins in the rain forest ".
