This blog is a record of my learning from Ruapotaka Primary School through to Tamaki College.

Algebra Test
Today we had a Algebra test. I bet that all students of Room 12 was feeling very nervous. Luckily Mrs Golder was very kind to let us study some algebra questions. To be honest I thought that the test would be hard because I don't really understand algebra. While doing the maths test Mrs Golder kept on crossing off times one by one I felt as if I was sinking into a tar pit,or through quicksand, or being pulled into the gloom but I thought to myself that they were mixed just feelings trying to put me off my test. Once Mrs Golder announced that the test was over all students sighed with relief. I said to myself" Finally our maths to is done and dusted!"
Where's Mrs Golder?
On Monday, Mrs Golder was absent. Everyone was asking each other, "Where's Mrs Golder?" After fitness Mrs Vickers came down to split us up. I was put into Room 9. It was very odd without Mrs Golder. Everything was messy because we were use to Mrs Golder's routine. While I was in Room Nine, Tyla and I taught a few maths strategies to Room Nine. We thought to ourselves "Why not teach the class a more efficient way to solve a maths problem." While teaching the students we noticed that they were enjoying themselves. Miss Misela had a really big smile on her face because her class was learning year 8 maths strategies. I quite enjoyed being in Room 9 for the day and I hope that all the other classes did too.

Narrative Assignment
Yesterday was the first test and it was a narrative test. We had 40 minutes to complete our story. For the first five minutes we had to brain storm. Five minutes was finally over and it was time to start. We wrote and wrote until our time was up. Mr Myer called ''Times up.'' We sighed with disappointment. We had no choice but to hand in our piece writing. I hope that everyone did well in the test!!

Poetry Recital
Toady Maranatha,Meana and I had to practice our poem for the poetry recital. It was quite frighting because we only had a couple of hours until the recital. It was time for the recital we were waiting patiently for our turn. Room 11 had finished and Mr Myer called us up so we went up and said our poems starting with me then Maranatha and lastly Meana. Day after day all three of us always made a huge progress. I am so proud of them for doing a good job.

Another Victory!!
After our netball practices it finally came to the day where we had to go to the AMI Netball Courts to represent our school RUAPOTAKA.It was extremly hot but we had to do our best to come either 1st, 2nd or 3rd and our goal came true, we came 3rd YAY!! I thought that both teams tried their bests. We wouldn't of came third if it wasn't for Mr Reids hard work that he did with us. I'm pretty sure that the year 7&8 and year 6&5 appreciate all of the hard work and effort Mr Reid put into our team. I guess that netball was a big success
after all.

Moving Back to Our School!!
We are finally back at our school because we had been moved to Tamaki Primary because we had a asbestos testing at our school. It was really hard to work at a different school without our Chromebooks and other school supplies. My favorite part about being at Tamaki Primary is that we got to see the Tongan performances. Some prefects had to present some gift for their principle Mrs Kelly. I really appreciated the fact that they allowed us to stay at their school for a couple of days. (Out of all the students Anavea,Maranatha and I were the happiest to be back)

Netball Practise
NETBALL!!Today at lunch we had netball practise for the 2016 netball tournament. We had to practise against the year 5 and 6. They were really good at playing against the older grades. Even though that they were smaller than us they played really awesome and aggressive. I really think that we have a good team this year. I can't wait for the actual tournament.

Believe Me (REAL LIFE FAIRY)
A few weeks ago Room 12 has been doing work for Mr Meyer. We had to work on his Friday quiz and one of the question was What creature does Lisa Wildgoose say is in a photograph she took? And guess what I said, I said a fairy!! That was so crazy because it actually looked like a fairy. My class mates were very shocked because they saw the picture of the fairy. Some didn't really believe the photo but here is the evidence.......... If you believe that this is a fairy then comment down below and say yes I believe.

Maths Assessment
MATHS TEST
Today my class mates and I had to sit a maths test. The maths test was quite hard. I tried my best to figure out the answers. Our test took 45 minutes and I am glad that we had that long because if we didn't I'm pretty sure for some people the test wouldn't be complete.I hope I did really well in the test and I also hope that all my other class mates that sat the test did well.

What About Me?
Well not a few days
ago Mr Reid had to choose the soccer team to represent our school. I really like soccer and so I thought that I should try my best to make it in. I did really hope that I could be in the team. The day he announced the names for the team and I didn't hear my name. It was a bit of a downer but I had to get of over it and I did. Oh well I guess I can stay at school and play with my friends.

Back To School Again!!
Wow! Term 2 is now here and I am pumped to get back into learning again. It was really great to see my friends again. Once I had arrived at school I saw that all the students were catching up with their friends. When the bell rang we had a little welcome back assembly in front of room one. After assembly we had to do fitness. It was fun but I didn't have the energy to dance as well as I did last term. Fitness was finished for the day and we had to go back to my class and learn! Well I guess I have to leave BYE!

Duffy Assembly With Ravindar
Last Friday a special visitor came to our school and her name is Ravinda. She came to talk to us about her jobs and why reading is so important. When Ravinda was talking about her job about being a reporter she said that she had to do a lot to reading. I think that being a news reporter is really cool because you get to go to special places and be on T.V! After Ravinda spoke Quros had to say a little thank you speech to Ravinda. I thought that Quros did a really great job saying a speech. Quros was really lucky that he got to take a photo with Ravinda.

A few weeks ago, a few of my classmates : Maranatha, Anavea,Meana,James,Azahar and JackDaneil. Only three members from our group brought things to make the BBQ. I thought that it was very fun making the watermelon BBQ. I know that in the future I will make another watermelon BBQ.

Last Softball Experience
Yesterday I went to a softball tournament with a few year eight and seven students. These students are Maranatha, Anavea, Suliasi, Timote Jr, Sophie Isabella, Quros, Samuel, Sione, MinZin, Mele and Mika. It was held at the Dunkirk Reserve. I thought Mika Sefo was our top player. I thought his batting was on point and his catching was marvelous. I also thought that everyone did well during our games. We won 2 games against St Patrick's and Panmure Bridge, but sadly we lost 3 games to Sylvia Park, Glenbrae and Point England Black. Although we came 7th I am proud to had participated in our softball inter-school sports competition. I had fun at softball. 2016 Softball Team!!

Receiving My Monitor's Badge
Yay! On Monday I had just received another Monitor's badge. All the Monitors' badges were for some of Room 12 and 11 students. Our badge is basically anything that involves monitoring work . I am proud to have another Monitor's badge. If you are one of the students that received a badge then you should be proud to have it.
Congratulations

Tabloids
Did I have fun doing tabloids? Yes I did. Before we begun tabloids we got put into groups. The first group that my team went with was Mrs Riley. Her game involved potatoes. The potatoes were used for all kinds of short races. I was kind of struggling to keep the potato putt in between my elbows. My absolute favorite game was Mr Rieds coconut game. Best Tabloids ever.

Welcoming The New Prefects
On Wednesday we had our first assembly for 2016. Mrs Vickers had a special announcement. She left the announcement to the end. Once she got all her notices out of the way, next was the SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!! The special news was that there were going to be new prefects. Before she said the new prefect names she got Quros and I to say a few things on how to become a good prefect. Finally, we finished talking and it was Mrs Vickers turn. The new prefects are Meana Min Zin and Sione. I was in shock when my brother was called to become a new prefect. Congratulations to the new prefects! 2016 PREFECTS!!!!!
